Service is a key ingredient in Metals Trading success and high standing in the industry, tailoring service requirements to suit customer needs is pivotal to all business activities.
Metal is our main focus. However, Metals Trading has designed total waste management systems for many leading Victorian companies. Materials such as plastics, computer waste and chemicals have become part of the total waste management plan. Whether you are a one site operation or a national multi-location business, our company representative can visit your premises and assess the individual requirements needed.
The Metals Trading group has developed service plans to suit both Metropolitan and Regional areas of Australia. These plans are designed to meet the specific needs of our customer base. Site specific needs are wide and varied and include; Essential Elements of Our Service
- Suitable containers are provided at no cost.
- Collection takes place within 24 hours of telephone advice.
- The weight of scrap is determined by digital readout scales with one kilogram increments. All scales are certified and registered with Trade Measurement departments.
- When collecting bins, our driver and your representative will weigh materials and record weights in a dispatch book. Our driver will sign the dispatch note and this will become the basis for payment. Payment is by electronic funds transfer within seven days from collection or as per your requirements.
- On site loading facility, The Metals Trading fleet of trucks includes flat top vehicles fitted with truck mounted forklifts to allow for self loading of bins and material on site.
Collection Service
- Bin sizes from 1 ? 32 cubic metre capacity.
- Collection within 24 hours.
- Weigh on site. (All scales are certified and registered with Trade Measurement departments).
- Comprehensive reporting on monthly and year to date basis.

- Our representative will visit your premises to evaluate your specific requirements.
The Collection Process
Metals Trading is a market leader in collection initiatives. Our fleet includes vehicles fitted with demountable forklifts for on-site loading of bins and materials, digital platform scales and built in waste oil collection trays to ensure environmental compliance.
A computer generated Recipient Created Tax Invoice will show date of collection, vehicle registration, your company's Release number, commodity, weight, rate and value. This could be forwarded same day or accompanying payment. The combination of onsite weighing plus utilising London Metal Exchange (LME) pricing as independent indices, provides your company with a disposal methodology that will withstand the most rigorous of audits.
At month's end, a computer printout detailing collections for the month and on a year to date basis, can be forwarded on request.
Steel Division
Over the past few years our steel division at Metals Trading has experienced tremendous growth. Our customer base is wide and varied with services tailored to suit both large and small enterprises.
All customer requirements can be easily assessed by one of our representatives. We can provide the following:

Fifty percent of the worlds steel products are produced from recycled scrap.
